Marropino Tantalite Processing Facility

DemcoTECH Engineering was responsible for design, engineering and layout of the front end and layout of the process plant for Noventa Limited’s tantalite processing facility at Marropino in Mozambique. A design challenge was to reduce the size of the ROM ore from approx. 200 mm particle size down to – 1 mm to be pumped to the wet processing area. Tenke Fungurume Sulphur Storage & Lime Dosing System

DemcoTECH Engineering supplied a sulphur storage and lime dosing system for the sulphuric acid plant for Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold’s giant copper/cobalt project in the DRC. The system consists of a 150 ton stainless steel storage silo, mounted on load cells, a belt feeder discharge, an automatic lime dosing system and a luffing conveyor. Pipe Conveyor for Koidu Diamond Processing Plant

DemcoTECH Engineering was contracted by Consulmet to supply a pipe conveyor for the new 180 tph diamond processing plant at Koidu Mine in Sierra Leone. The 45.6 m long, 200 mm diameter pipe conveyor conveys 2 tph of diamondiferous ore from the process plant at 0.5 m/s to a secure area. The technology provides secure handling of the material containing diamonds along the complete length of the conveyor, as they are completely enclosed by the conveyor belt for the major portion of its travel. Expansion to Assmang’s Cato Ridge Alloys plant

DemcoTECH Engineering was contracted, with Kantey & Templer Consulting Engineers, for the expansion to the manganese export facility at Assmang Limited’s Cato Ridge Alloys plant in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africal. The expansion consisted of upgrading two existing rail tipplers, installing a series of troughed conveyors with transfer houses, from the tipplers to a new 80,000 ton stockpile, an elevated travelling tripper, tunnel reclaim equipment and a road load-out facility. Belt Filter & Cooling System for Tronox Namakwa Sands

A project to provide a belt filter and cooling system for the processing facility at the Tronox Namakwa Sands heavy minerals mine near Brand-se-Baai in South Africa, was carried out in two phases: the detailed design comprised a six month contract, followed by the award of a fast track lump sum turnkey (LSTK) execution contract. The cooling system was installed to increase the separation efficiency of the WHIMS, as magnetic separation is highly temperature sensitive. Khumani Mine Multi-Stream Iron Ore Sampling Plant

DemcoTECH was contracted by Assmang Limited for the design through to commissioning of the multi-stream sampling plant for its Khumani Iron Ore Mine. The plant features three sample processing streams, multiple load-cell mounted weigh hoppers, two driers and multiple sample splitters. Other features include deck screens (two off) and vibrating feeders (two off), an automated process crane, conveyors and storage bin. The process building is a 80 metre x 25 metre x 30 metre high structure.
