DemcoTECH was contracted by GRD MInproc to supply a conveyor system to Syama Gold Mine in Mali, West Africa. The turnkey contract covered the supply of five DemcoTech-designed 500 tph conveyors with belt widths of 900 and 1,650 mm. The conveyors transport run-of-mine (ROM) gold ore in up to 400 mm lump sizes from the mine to the gold processing plant. DemcoTECH designed a 4.5 km pipe conveyor for Harmony Gold Mining Company in Papua New Guinea to transport gold ore though jungle, providing an economical and environmentally friendly solution. The pipe conveyor was required to have multiple curves given the jungle environment, as well as elevated gantries to allow animals to pass underneath. The 1 500 tph pipe conveyor has a 350 mm diameter pipe and 4 x 300 kW drives at the tail and head ends. Read more …
