DemcoTECH designs and supplies materials handling systems and niche process plants  for the diamond mining and metallurgical industry. All types of conventional, overland and pipe conveyor systems are supplied to move ore and tailings, while stacking and reclaiming systems are available for the efficient, effective and economic reclaiming of bulk materials.

DemcoTECH designed and constructed a system to dispose of between 3 to 4 Mtpa of dry tailings. The system had to be re-routable, extendable and capable of withstanding the extreme weather conditions and mountainous terrain of Lesotho. The head/drive pulley of the existing conveyor was elevated above ground level with a discharge chute discharging material onto the tail end of the new DemcoTECH 320 m long extendable conveyor. DemcoTECH supplied a tailings disposal system as part of the establishment of a second diamond treatment plant at Letseng Mine. The project included a conveyor with fixed tripper and multiple discharge points, two 1 km long tail-driven downhill extendable conveyors with a rail-mounted tripper and 20 m boom spreader, and three transfer houses. The system was required to operate at ambient temperatures ranging from +35 °C to – 20 °C, as Letseng is the highest diamond mine in the world. Read more …

DemcoTECH supplied a pipe conveyor for the new 180 tph diamond processing plant at Koidu Mine in Sierra Leone. The 45.6 m long, 200 mm diameter pipe conveyor conveys 2 tph of diamondiferous ore from the process plant at 0.5 m/s to a secure area. The technology was selected as it provides secure handling of the material containing diamonds along the complete length of the conveyor, as they are completely enclosed by the conveyor belt for the major portion of its travel.
